Evidence Desk
How HubSEO structures, deduplicates, and prioritises findings. Every claim is traceable.
The Evidence Desk is the layer between raw measurements and the report you read. It merges detector output into findings, keeps every claim traceable to its evidence, and ranks what matters.
The finding structure
Every diagnostic finding answers five questions, in this exact order:
Human severity labels
Severity is written for humans, not dashboards:
Fix this first
A blocking issue. Crawlability, Core Web Vitals, or organic indexing is measurably constrained.
Important improvement
Clear, evidenced value in fixing soon. Directly impacts visibility or user experience.
Worth improving
Real but lower-leverage. Solves secondary audit findings and schema completeness.
Optional polish
Cosmetic or marginal enhancements with minimal ranking delta.
Deduplication and merging
The same problem can surface from three sources: the fix pack, the SEO check groups, and Lighthouse audits. The presentation layer merges these by topic so you see one finding with combined evidence, not three near-duplicates. The desktop report adds a sticky side index: overview, growth barriers, working well, review later, verification.
Statuses and what they mean
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
pass | Measured, and met the standard. |
warning | Measured, partially met. Half credit in check-set scoring. |
fail | Measured, not met. |
info | Evidence unavailable. Excluded from scores, never counted as failure. |
Check results can carry an evidencePath pointing at the exact captured
artefact that produced them.
What Evidence Desk is not
The Evidence Desk is per-URL, per-scan. It is not a rank tracker, not a backlink index, and not a web-wide crawler. HubSEO measures your verified properties and your selected competitor domains, deeply. Read Boundaries for the full list of deliberate limits.
